In Los Angeles, Doets Travel based in Heerhugowaard, The Netherlands has been awarded the prestigious US ‘Oscar for the Travel Industry’ for the sixth time.
The travel organization from Heerhugowaard managed by business woman Elske Doets has been awarded the Chairman’s Circle Honors Award, known as the ‘Oscar for the Travel Industry’. This means that Doets Travel is one of the best fifty companies in the world that specialize in America travel. The companies are judged on innovative approach, marketing strategy and of course results and revenue.
The award was presented by Brand USA, the umbrella organisation for tourism agencies in the US. Doets Travel has won the award before in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 en 2018. A remarkable achievement, considering that Doets Travel leaves behind big travel organizations from countries with much larger domestic markets, like China, India and Brazil. No other Dutch travel organisation has been this successful in the US.
Acknowledgment
Elske Doets was very pleased with the American acknowledgement. “I am a bit perplexed that we won for the sixth time, because it is getting harder every year,” tells Elske Doets from Los Angeles. “But the award is more important for our customers. This brand recognition is key to being able to get accommodations at the best possible locations where others can’t, so we can offer our travelers unique stays.”
The company of Doets is in the middle of a transition. Decades ago, her father founded Jan Doets America Tours, solely focused on travel to the US and Canada. Since March 1st the company is rebranded as Doets Travel. “Because we are extending the approach that made us successful in the US to other countries. Traveling with Doets is no longer limited to the US. Customers used to our trusted approach in the US can now travel to other continents with Doets as well. Curated with the same care, offering the same quality.”
The Travel Oscar ceremony was held last Saturday at the yearly convention of the American Travel Industry, the ‘International Pow Wow’. This year the convention took place in Anaheim, CA, home to Disneyland.
